Hi, my name is Leslie Miller. I have been an Activity Director for two years now. I have worked at Granger for almost a year now. I am also a CNA and Resotrative aid. I have worked in long-term care for many years now. I enjoy working with the resident and getting to know them and their families.
I have two daughters that are 20 and 13, and one grandson that is a year old. I live in Huxley, but I grew up in Bondurant. I enjoy reading and spending time with my friends and family.
Dan has served as Granger Nursing Home and Rehab’s Maintenance Director for over 2 years now. Dan has a tremendous amount of respect and love for the residents he has the opportunity to work with each and every day. At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dan played a big role in ensuring the safety of each resident and staff member. At one point, Dan was tasked with setting up safety measures for COVID-19 at other sister nursing homes in the Des Moines area. Dan has been an instrumental part of the Granger team. Dan lives in Perry with his son and daughter in-law and has 5 grandchildren. When the weather is nice you can find Dan fishing and camping. He loves being outdoors!
Hello all! My name is Tiffany Wood. have been with Granger Nursing and Rehab for a total of 4 years working in housekeeping. I have served as the housekeeping supervisor since 2021. There is nothing I love more than having the pleasure of knowing the Granger Nursing and Rehab residents as well as my coworkers. I love to make people laugh and I strive to help out as much as I possibly can, some may say to a fault.
I am a mother of two children (Isaac and Olivia) and have a brilliant fiancé, Joshua. On my days off we enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. I especially enjoy camping, hiking, nature, and wildlife.
Social Service Director
Megan has been with us since January of 2022. Overall, she has worked in Social Services for 12 years. Megan loves working with the residents and being a part of their everyday lives. A part of Megan’s role is to collaborate with the management team, residents, and families. She works alongside the residents to ensure their stay at Granger meets all standards and expectations of each individual resident and their families.
Megan comes to us with vast knowledge in human services and mental health. Given Megan’s close family ties and knowledge of nursing homes, she decided to make a career change. Seeing the inner workings of nursing homes, Megan wanted to be a part of a team of healthcare experts who are focused on ensuring high quality of life in each individual’s later years of life. Currently, Megan lives in Boone with her four-year-old daughter. Megan is family oriented and enjoys spending time with them when she is away from work.
Medical Records/Accounts Payable
My name is Margaret LaRue. I have been with Granger Nursing Home and Rehab since May of 2019, working in Medical Records, Accounts Payable, Central Supply, and Payroll. I have worked in healthcare since October of 2000. I started as a C.N.A and, after 15 years, I decided to move into other facets of long-term care.
While working full-time and being a mother of three, I began online education. I worked towards an Associates Degree in Medical Transcription, Bachelor of Science in Health Science, and Medical Billing and Coding Certification. I obtained the CCA (certified coding associate) credential. My goal is to obtain the CCS (certified coding specialist) credential and bookkeeping and payroll certification.
I am married with three children: a boy and two girls. My family and I enjoy vacationing in Tennessee. We go every chance we have. We like hiking, visiting waterfalls, and fishing. Whenever we are traveling, it gives me a chance to live out my passion and hobby of amateur photography.
My name is Billy Thoman-Smith, and I am the Dietary Manager here at Granger Nursing and Rehabilitation. I’ve previously worked as a CNA and CMA. I decided to transition to this position because I wanted to progress and learn more about the long-tern care industry as a whole. My goal is to eventually further my career and become an RN and eventually an administrator. I love my residents like family and I enjoy keeping up with their lives and creating bonds that last forever. I enjoy working with my team and I am proud of our welcoming and open culture here at Granger Nursing and Rehabilitation.
I’m outgoing, and am always speaking my mind, especially when it comes to advocating for someone in need. My husband, son, and I love to travel around the country in our free time. We have visited Los Angeles, California, the southern tip of Florida, and all-around Texas in the past year. In the future, our goal is to visit Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, and various places in Germany. My top priorities in life are my family, and my job. I have never had as much pride in myself, and my career as I do at Granger Nursing and Rehabilitation. GO GRANGER!
